iggs & Cheeks uncover their lost mystery on what happened to them over the past few years. The infamous duo most known for their appearances on vintage mixtapes such as the Chi-Bangin and Sox Park Mob series has a different approach in 2005. Cheeks has moved to Detroit, Michigan and is still recording while keeping connections with Jiggs who remains Chicago-bound. Jiggs recorded between 60-70 solo songs, but hasn't released the material yet. He goes on to explain his disappearance in Chicago 's rap circle. “I started hustlin' and makin' money in other areas. I just started seein' the scene ain't what it's supposed to be. You gotta make a living, you can't be doin' that rap shit all the time and ain't makin' no money."
A key song that many may know Jiggs by is his solo song,
“North Pole Anthem”
which was a very territorial track explaining the streets and hoods of Chicago 's North Side. D.A. Smart created his classic Chicago anthem
“Walk Wit Me”
in '97 which raised controversy and motivation. Jiggs comments on D.A.'s song and also the influence behind
“North Pole Anthem,” “When I heard the song (Walk Wit Me) it was cold. I was like damn how he go through the whole Chicago area and didn't say not one street about the North Side? I just thought that was kinda crazy to me, so that goes to show you what they think of the North Side, like they don't think its apart of Chicago. It didn't piss me off, it was like damn well he ain't touch that, so let me touch this. At the time I was living there so I had to represent it.”
Jiggs also mentioned that he already recorded
“North Pole Anthem Part 2”
which might be released somewhere down the line on a solo mixtape with other unreleased material.
