D
-Fly declares summer as his time to be On Somethin'. This DramaWard soloist has a new album titled On Somethin' in the works and his mind fully set on reaching people from all places with the new release. “Basically I want to hit a broader audience other than Chicago . Let more people know about me, DramaWard and Chicago itself. I want people in other cities and countries to know its some raw shit here. I'm trying to do a variety and still keep it Chicago ,” says D-Fly. With this mentality, he plans to give everyone their favorite flavors whether it's Down South, East Coast, West Coast and of course signature Chicago. Currently working on a song with PsychoDrama for On Somethin', D-Fly also has additional features with Lil Chilla of the Snypaz, Dawreck of Triple Darkness and G-Ball. On top of that, there's a possibility of a few more artists he may put on his guest list. DramaWard group Hydro Therapy did join forces with D-Fly on his 2002 release I'ma Tell Ya Like This, but may have a harder time coming back because they moved to Atlanta, Georgia . Other past efforts raise questions such as where is D-Fly's partner Co-Killa from their 1998 joint effort After Shock? D shared his knowledge on Co explaining, “He got locked up then got out. We touched bases and then certain situations happened and he got locked back up. I liked that project (After Shock). He got locked up when we first released it, so that put a hold on a lot of things as far as doing shows and all of that because he wasn't there. But I liked that project, I was satisfied with it.” Dealing with change and adapting to new doors that open, D-Fly now finds himself paired with Dawreck of Triple Darkness for their production company called Hypnotix. They plan to spread the DramaWard sound everywhere possible through their musical talents behind the beats. D-Fly certainly is On Something for 2005 and appears to have a sharp focus as he represents the DramaWard proudly to the world.
