Bennie Franks chooses Chicago as his stomping grounds this fall with his new solo release "Area 51." Originally from the Robert Taylor Homes, Bennie began most of his earlier rap career in the Southside group Money Makin Soldiers. He later teamed up with Legit Ballin Records making appearances on their entire compilation series. This Legit connection help land him an appearance on Twista's song "Show Go On" produced by Kanye West and featuring Freeway which was set for release on the Kamikaze album. During this time, Twista was having a falling out with Legit Ballin Records which may be a reason why the track got scrapped from the project.

Now in 2005, Bennie Franks takes matters into his own hands with his first single off of Area 51 titled,'To the Side.' Look out for Bennie to hit up your hood as he rolls through the streets of Chi campaigning with his own hooked up signature Area 51 Van. It's always good to see artists painting their picture of Chicago Rap.... even if it's in the form of the biggest mural traveling on 4 wheels you ever saw! Bennie Franks' new solo release Area 51 is set to drop later this month.
